why wfws exists
WheatFire Web Studios grew out of a simple observation.
Many small businesses were paying for websites that looked polished on the surface but struggled underneath. Slow load times, inaccessible layouts, and complicated systems made them harder to use than they should have been.
Good websites don't come from adding more and more complexity.
They come from starting with the right foundation and letting the site develop around what the business actually needs.
That's the approach I bring to every project.
why wheatfire?
In agriculture, fields are sometimes burned to remove what no longer serves the soil.
What remains is a clean surface ready for growth.
The same idea applies to how I build websites.
Instead of layering on trends, templates, and unnecessary tools, I focus on clearing away the noise and building something strong from the ground up.
A well-built website should continue working and growing with the business it represents.

the wfws backstory
Before I learned to code, my background was in business and finance.
That eventually put me in a position where I had to help find a developer for a SaaS company. The experience was frustrating, expensive, and often unclear until we finally found a development team that was honest, straightforward, and transparent about pricing from the beginning.
That experience stayed with me.
After learning to code, I built my own approach around what I had learned from both business and development. A lot of developers approach web projects from a code-first mindset. I approach them from a business-first mindset, because that is the world I came from first.
WFWS exists to give small businesses a stronger online foundation than most build-it-yourself platforms can offer. My sites are custom coded, accessibility-minded, and built from the ground up around the actual needs of the business.
I don't use WordPress or no-code builders for my client work. I don't outsource unless a project is larger than I can responsibly handle, and if that ever happens, the client knows upfront exactly who is involved.
The goal is simple: build something honest, durable, and useful.
